In Dhaka in the 90s, kids ate Bombay Sweets ring chips in tiffins at school. Fuji noodles taken from home, or burgers bought from the canteen for five taka. And before that, going out to eat meant Chinese or kebabs. Small ice cream parlours, fast food shops were growing, the popularity of western grills was also very high at that time, after boating in Uttara Lake, there was a provision to eat kebabs, thanks to Newmarket Gauchiya food shop, many women were interested in learning how to make beef rolls, chicken patties, jam rolls, vegetable rolls. Cooking courses were started in various places and many interested women made them and supplied them to the food shops and turned the wheels of the family's economy. Cricket was a very popular sport in Bangladesh at that time. In 1992, the World Cup cricket game was being shown on TV. Indian-Pakistani cricket players have always been ahead of the Australian-English in terms of popularity among the middle class. A festive moment like winning the ICC trophy in 97 has probably come less in the country.

In 1999, Bangladesh participated in the World Cup for the first time. After cricket, there was football. The Abahani and Mohammedan craze was still in the heart of the middle class. To fix the poor condition of Bangladeshi cinema, some expressed interest in art film as well as mainstream cinema. Beautiful, smart and talented artists like Moushumi and Salman Shah made their debut in the film industry of our country. A lot of middle class audience went back to the cinema hall to watch this film. Moushumi and Salman became the heartthrobs of all teenagers and young women. Salman Shah committed suicide in 1996 due to an undisclosed reason. He was so popular at that time that many of his fans also committed suicide as they could not bear the grief of his death. Ferdous Riaz made their debut after Salman Moushumi. Cable TV arrived in Bangladesh in the 1990s. Indian TV, National Geographic Channel, Discovery, Cartoon Network all came within the reach of the middle class. The saree market and clothing design began to revolve around Indian TV. At the same time, jeans, t-shirts, skirts, long dresses became very popular among middle class girls. Except for those who went out for shopping, the rest of the middle class met their needs from markets like Bangabazar, Doja etc. Because of Mumbai TV, Diana-cut, Madhuri-cut in hairstyles were more to watch. For boys, the hair is short in the front but past the neck, which was Sanjay Dutt's style. Even in the era of cable TV, Humayun Ahmed's 'Kothao Kew Nei' serial drama attracted the middle class audience immensely. Asaduzzaman Noor as Baker's brother and Surbana Mustafa as Muna became very popular in Dhaka. A trend of wearing red shirts is noticed among Bak's brothers from neighborhood to neighborhood, along with black sunglasses and different types of bracelets on their hands. In the nineties Zahid Hasan, Shami Kaiser, Bipasha Hayat, Tauki were the symbols and icons of the new generation. The uproar started with the advertisements of Nobel, Mahfuz, Faisal. BTV started their all-day broadcasting in the 1990s. The three-day continuous program on Eid started from then. Broadcasting of Bengali dubbed serials on TV started in this decade. First comes Sword of Tipu Sultan. Dark Justice, Akbar the Great, Thief of Bagdad, Sindabad, Robin Hood etc. started coming dubbed in different Bengali along the lines.

Valentine's Day, Friendship Day, Pahela Phalgun such days became popular in Dhaka in the nineties as festivals. Cox's Bazar, the only vacation spot in Bangladesh, caught the middle class at that time. From the nineties, the trend of flat culture began, as well as market culture. At that time, like the umbrella of a frog, English medium schools as well as private universities started growing all over Dhaka city.

Go to India for General Honours, BBA, Computer Science marks in Australia, Canada, London, America since the nineties. MCQ system has been introduced in secondary and higher secondary examinations since 1992. The most talked about event of the nineties was the "Fall of Ershad Sarkar" for Dhaka.

In 98, the entire country was submerged in a terrible flood. In the 1990s, computers came into the homes of the middle class. This is how the nineties ended. And we lose a beautiful time.
